Oversight lyrics - Mendicity

Title: Mendicity
Artist: Oversight
Album: How Can We Say...
Year: 2001
Submitted by: Olivier Boucher

I can see much clearer what pollutes my will of looking through
barriers.
Here's the cancer of this peaceful country…
The weak are forced to be ashamed of what they live for and are
forced
to kill themselves for money and respect.
What a great punishment for their bad luck.
As if they all ask for welfare.
As if they wanted to be poor.
Humanity must comprehend.
It's happening here, it's happening now.
So what the hell are we waiting for ?
It must be stopped today, not tomorrow.
We can't pretend to be free in a land of opportunity.
Expecting them to answer ? What a fucking waste of time.
I would rather die with nothing than being an observer of misery.
Some fences have been built with the aim of keeping the power
in the same hands.
Conceding what we can demand is the wrong way.
We should not give up on life.
What they did before has turned out to be a mirror of sadness.
Look at your world !
People are sad.
Angels of fate won't save them now.
And your bullshit won't infect me anymore.
Look at your tyrannical way of blushing aside the obstacles in your
path.
Obstacles that I would call the masses oppressed by a policy of
indifference.
You try to keep people laughing in order to keep them working.
Still they endure horrible conditions.
Go to hell, I believe in human life quality.
The sun never rises on everyone in your American free world.
There are people dying under your flag of liberty that actually
suggests mendicity.
Beyond all integrity, there's more than just a dream.
Another man is forced to cry in silence.
I will never agree with the way the economy downgrades everything.
No sun's rising on this land.
